Ouagadoubida was a spirt who the ghanians believed to be a giant snake. This snake lived in a sacred grove outside the ghanian castle in Koumbi. No one was allowed in this grove and they had many priests surrounding the perimeter of the grove. Ouagadoubida protected the people of Ghana, he gave good crops, and gave water. But in return every year to ouagadou-bida there was a sacrifice to be made, so every year they chose the prettiest girl and sent her into the grove. One year they sacrificed a girl named Sia (See-ah) and her soon to be husband (Amadou) was not happy, and unfoutunetly her fiance was a mighty warrior so on the day of the sacrifice he snuck into the grove and waited for ouagadoubida to come out and once he did Amoadou cut off ouagadoubida's head, fourtunetly ouagadoubida's head keot growing back and once Amoudou had cut off the 7th head ouagadoubida had fallen and died. This brought drought to Ghana, and the almorvids shortly took over Ghana

The people of Ghana were grateful for Ouagadoubida for keeping Ghana prosperous. As a sacrafice Ghana gave their prettiest girl to Ouagadoubida for a sacrifice. The prettiest in girl was named Sia and she was engaged to a general named Amadou. When Sia was going into the grove to be sacrificed Amadou snuck in. When the giant snake came down Amadou fought it. He chopped of its head, but when he chopped it up another one grew

in its place. Amadou cut the heads seven times and the snake finally died.
